
The Aurora is generally thought of as a Northern Hemisphere phenomenon and it is true that it is much easier to see in that part of the world. Not, however because it is the only place they occur, but rather because of the fact that there is more landmass toward the pole from which to view it. It can however be viewed in the southern hemisphere as well and it is just as spectacular here. Photographing the Southern Lights is one of my greatest passions and the images they produce are some of the most amazing images in photography.
